Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple work processes efficiently while maintaining productivity
- Properly handling specimens, confirming identification and specimen suitability, and using appropriate accessioning procedures
- Recognizing and resolving discrepancies on patient orders, and performing instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control
- Replenishing reagents and supplies, following established reporting procedures, and accessing multiple computer applications
- Training and orienting new employees, participating in educational activities, and maintaining current knowledge in the field
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, with preferred certification or experience in medical technology or laboratory science
- Successful completion of an accredited training program or relevant experience in clinical laboratories
- Ability to perform initial and ongoing competency assessments
