Role Overview: A Medical Laboratory Scientist performs and reports various analyses from multiple specimen sources to deliver high-quality patient care and maximize satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain productivity, manage multiple processes efficiently, handle specimens properly, confirm identification and specimen suitability, perform accessioning, recognize discrepancies, troubleshoot instruments, record maintenance, replenish supplies, follow reporting procedures, navigate computer applications, train new staff, and participate in ongoing education.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, successful completion of an accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program or related certification, and at least two years’ experience in a clinical laboratory role. Successful completion of competency exams is required.
