Join a state-of-the-art laboratory team as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, performing and reporting analyses from various specimens to ensure high-quality patient care and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple work processes efficiently and completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Properly handling specimens, confirming identification, and using appropriate accessioning procedures.
- Recognizing discrepancies, resolving issues, and documenting instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
- Replenishing reagents, following reporting procedures, and accessing multiple computer applications.
- Training and orienting new employees and participating in ongoing educational activities.
Work is performed in a clinical environment, requiring compliance with policies and procedures. The role demands successful completion of competency exams and adherence to department-specific skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
- Successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program or equivalent certification.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
