Medical Assistant – Certified – Primary Care

Role Overview: This position involves providing direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, working as part of a healthcare team under provider supervision. Responsibilities include preparing patients, collecting vital signs, performing technical procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy, administering medications, and supporting minor surgical procedures. Additionally, the role encompasses administrative tasks like scheduling, documentation, patient communication, and maintaining clinic supplies and sterilization protocols.

Qualifications & Skills: Candidates must be certified Medical Assistants (CMA or RMA) by recognized associations (NHA, AMT, AAMA, etc.), with a high school diploma or GED required. Preferred candidates have completed a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma program. Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to perform both clinical and clerical duties are essential.

Key Duties: Obtain and document patient information, support examination setup, assist with patient preparation, perform tests and procedures, manage lab specimens, support infection control, document in electronic medical records, facilitate timely patient appointments, and contribute to patient education and safety initiatives.
