Role Overview
The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical support under the supervision of a licensed provider, performing duties to promote patient health and ensure efficient care delivery. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs and patient histories, performing clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care tests, and injections, as well as triaging calls, delivering test results, and assisting providers with relevant information.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- No prior experience required; experience preferred
- Certification or registration in area of expertise
- CPR certification is a plus
Key Duties
- Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms
- Gather patient data and document accurately
- Perform clinical procedures and tests
- Manage patient communication and relay results to providers
