Med Surg Nurse – Night Shift

Role Overview

The registered nurse provides direct patient care in a medical-surgical unit, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management, home care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities that ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and the interprofessional team, ensuring clear communication across care settings.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and cultural factors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and work in a vigilant manner, as this position is safety-sensitive.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current RN license; no prior experience required, but two years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree are preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
