Role Overview
The Medication Aide/Med Tech is responsible for administering medications and treatments to residents safely, accurately, and with dignity. This role involves following physician orders, adhering to the Six Rights of Medication Administration, and maintaining precise documentation in MAR/TAR records in real time. The position requires observing residents during and after medication passes, monitoring symptoms, reporting concerns promptly, and completing narcotic counts according to policy.
Key responsibilities include maintaining clean and organized medication carts, following infection control and safety standards, and preventing medication errors. The role is vital in identifying early health changes and ensuring resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma/GED, age 18+
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Senior care experience preferred
