Role Overview
The Medication Aide/Med Tech is responsible for administering medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity to residents in a senior living environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Following the Six Rights of Medication Administration
- Documenting accurately in MAR/TAR in real time
- Monitoring residents during and after medication passes
- Observing symptoms, reporting concerns, and administering medications for symptom relief
- Completing narcotic counts and maintaining medication carts and rooms
- Adhering to infection control and safety standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED; age 18+
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Preferred: senior care experience
This role plays a critical part in preventing medication errors, early detection of health changes, and ensuring resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
