Role Overview: The position involves providing patient care and surgical assistance in obstetrical and surgical settings, supporting the Obstetrical Surgery Team during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with patient assessments, vital signs, and daily activities under RN supervision
- Preparing and operating surgical equipment, verifying surgical sites, and assisting during procedures
- Managing supplies, specimens, and maintaining sterile conditions
- Applying dressings, monitoring patient reactions, and documenting medical information
- Participating in admission, discharge, billing, and on-call duties
- Supporting cross-training in Women’s and Children’s units
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Nursing
- Obstetrics experience required
- Ability to scrub in OR, Nursery, and Postpartum settings
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adherence to safety protocols
