LPN – Practical Nurse – Medical Surgical Unit

Role Overview: Provides direct patient care as an Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), contributing to assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Addresses patients’ physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs, while reinforcing education and discharge planning. Collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.


Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policies
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on patient response
  • Participating in unit-based decision-making and evidence-based practice
  • Mentoring new staff and students, and providing input on performance appraisals
  • Promoting patient safety, satisfaction, and adaptive responses
  • Precepting and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills

Additional Details: Work hours include 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
