Role Overview: Provides direct patient care under RN supervision, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies. Acts as a care team member, supporting patient needs through various services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs clinical duties as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and models quality patient care.
- Obtains and documents patient information such as chief complaint and vital signs, and prepares patients for examinations.
- Identifies and addresses physical, social, and psychological needs of patients and families, reporting changes to the RN.
- Reinforces health education, collects laboratory specimens, and prepares paperwork.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms, and assists providers with diagnostic and surgical procedures.
- Administers medications, manages IVs, and documents procedures accurately.
- Maintains a safe, organized clinical environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Participates in staffing coordination and monitors inventory and supplies.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Nursing. Demonstrates accountability, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
Work Environment: Typically performed in a clinical setting, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards. Additional department-specific skills may be required.
