Role Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care in collaboration with RNs, assisting with high-acuity patients and supporting the Unlicensed Nurse (UNL). Responsibilities include administering oral and IV piggyback medications, performing trach care, dressing changes, inserting and caring for NG tubes, managing ostomies, and reinforcing discharge education. The LPN charts assessments and care plans after initial RN assessments, communicates with physicians/APPs to coordinate care, and ensures proper documentation.
