Licensed Vocational Nurse – Pain Management

Role Overview:

Provides patient care under supervision of physicians or registered nurses, adhering to established standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic patient care duties such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens, including phlebotomy.
  • Assists providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures, and manages patient flow within the clinic.
  • Handles communication tasks like answering phones, recording messages, and assisting with patient-related calls.
  • Supports scheduling of tests, managing results, and pre-certification processes.
  • Documents patient information accurately and assists with medication refills.
  • Administers medications and immunizations as ordered by providers.
  • Maintains cleanliness and restocking of exam rooms, and ensures equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
  • Performs routine clerical duties, including chart retrieval, filing, and completing forms.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions, and performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
  • Licensed LVN in the state of employment or a compact license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
