Role Overview:
Provides patient care under supervision of physicians or registered nurses, adhering to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs basic patient care duties such as obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens, including phlebotomy.
- Assists providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures, and manages patient flow within the clinic.
- Handles communication tasks like answering phones, recording messages, and assisting with patient-related calls.
- Supports scheduling of tests, managing results, and pre-certification processes.
- Documents patient information accurately and assists with medication refills.
- Administers medications and immunizations as ordered by providers.
- Maintains cleanliness and restocking of exam rooms, and ensures equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Performs routine clerical duties, including chart retrieval, filing, and completing forms.
- Participates in meetings and training sessions, and performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Licensed LVN in the state of employment or a compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
