Role & Responsibilities:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, utilizing therapy software, assisting with patient transfers, and maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. The PTA collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patients’ functional improvements and quality of life in a skilled nursing facility setting, serving a diverse population with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited physical therapy program, hold an active state license, and maintain CPR certification. Preferred experience includes at least one year in post-acute care. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is required. Essential skills include good body mechanics, independent decision-making, adherence to laws and policies, professionalism, and effective communication.
