The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway dwelling individuals in the community.
Work involves community outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, supporting daily living skills, offering counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. Utilizes a person-centered, harm reduction, non-coercive approach, following the Critical Time Intervention model. Supports participants for months after housing to promote stability and independence. Role requires fieldwork, flexible hours, and periodic on-call coverage. Minimum requirements include a licensed master’s degree in social work, counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with experience working with homeless individuals are considered. Travel throughout Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties may be required. Full-time position with benefits, salary $32-$34/hr, based in Norwich, NY, with relocation required before start.
