Licensed Mental Health Professional

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.


  • The multi-disciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, using evidence-based Critical Time Intervention.
  • Responsibilities involve street outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities.
  • The role emphasizes member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, and person-centered care.
  • Post-housing, the team supports participants for several months to ensure stability and independence.

  • This full-time position requires fieldwork, flexible hours, periodic on-call duty, and travel across three counties. Qualifications include a master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with licensure or plans to obtain it.
