The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of a new Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals living on the streets or in subways.
This multidisciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, utilizing the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model.
The role involves community outreach, street-based work, coordinating needs before and after housing, supporting daily living skills, offering counseling, and advocating for clients facing discrimination or healthcare barriers.
The team supports participants post-housing to ensure stability, independence, and well-being. The position requires fieldwork, flexible hours, and periodic on-call duties.
Minimum qualifications include a licensed master’s degree in social work, counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW candidates with plans for licensure are also considered.
Travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties is expected. The role offers full-time employment, competitive pay, and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Relocation to Norwich, NY is required before starting.
