Charge Radiology Technologist leads daily imaging operations while performing diagnostic radiographic exams for adult and pediatric patients. The role prepares patients and imaging equipment, explains procedures, and completes general and portable imaging.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate imaging workflow, assignments, and staff coverage.
- Prepare patients and ensure appropriate imaging setup.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams, including portable imaging.
- Troubleshoot basic radiology equipment and resolve standard IT issues.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance to technologists.
- Act as a liaison with leadership to support smooth operations.
- Train, mentor, and support students and new team members.
Required qualifications/skills
- Registered/licensed radiology technologist with strong diagnostic imaging competency.
- Excellent patient communication and procedure explanation skills.
- Strong workflow coordination and basic technical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to lead and collaborate as a clinical resource for the team.
- Experience mentoring others and supporting clinical training.
