RN Clinical Staff (Labor & Delivery)
Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to birthing patients and newborns in a safety-net hospital setting. Perform comprehensive assessments, including triage and fetal monitoring, and administer medications as ordered. Support patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery while delivering culturally competent, equitable care.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. Advocate for patient needs, communicate effectively with the care team, and participate in clinical education by precepting and supporting others.
Key duties
- Assess patients and determine appropriate triage level
- Monitor fetal status and respond to clinical changes
- Administer medications and provide comprehensive perinatal care
- Support labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Coordinate care with physicians/midwives and interdisciplinary teams
- Advocate for patient equity and culturally competent care
- Precept and mentor staff/learners while maintaining safety standards
