Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery)
Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced hospital setting. Monitor laboring patients, interpret fetal heart tracings, and support vaginal and operative deliveries. Respond promptly and effectively to obstetric emergencies while collaborating with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure coordinated, safe care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal status and fetal well-being using fetal heart tracing interpretation
- Assist with vaginal and operative deliveries
- Manage and respond to obstetric emergencies
- Educate patients and families on care and next steps
- Ensure safe transitions to postpartum care
- Participate in quality improvement, research, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- Current RN licensure
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Competence in fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart tracings
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-based environment
- Excellent communication and patient-centered approach
