Inpatient Wound Ostomy Nurse (Full-Time, Days)

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care with a focus on wound care in a patient-centered clinical environment. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The role emphasizes patient and family education on managing illnesses, medication administration, and post-treatment care, while promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This position requires independent practice, strong clinical judgment, and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BSN required or currently enrolled in a BSN program
  • RN license
  • Experience is preferred but not mandatory; 2+ years of experience is advantageous
  • WOCN/WO certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification is necessary
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness at all times

Key Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and cultural background
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities
  • Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care
