ICU Clinical Nurse – Nights

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following nursing standards.

  • Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
  • Develops and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients or caregivers.
  • Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
  • Works in a safety-sensitive role, maintaining alertness and safety at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid RN license; no prior experience required, but 2+ years of ICU experience is preferred.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform critical ICU procedures such as central venous catheters, Swan-Ganz catheters, chest tubes, arterial lines, and intra-aortic balloon pump management.
  • Respond to Code Blue emergencies, with ICU nurses trained in emergency response protocols.
  • Contribute to a healing environment through education, safety initiatives, and team collaboration.
