Role Overview:
A Home Infusion Nurse provides skilled, compassionate care to patients in their homes or ambulatory infusion settings, supporting therapies and self-care education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel within a designated area to deliver infusion services, maintaining compliance with policies and physician orders.
- Establish and maintain vascular access devices, administer medications, and monitor patient responses.
- Assess patient suitability for home infusion, ensuring safety, independence, and caregiver support.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including clinical assessments, care plans, and medication profiles.
- Build positive relationships with patients and caregivers, providing education on self-care and infusion procedures.
- Communicate with the care team regarding patient progress and therapy responses.
- Support staff training and serve as a clinical resource when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Active RN license and BLS/CPR certification.
- At least 1 year of clinical RN experience supporting infusion or IV therapy.
- Strong clinical judgment, independence, and effective communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation within the service area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in home infusion or related fields.
- Familiarity with EMR platforms and infusion standards.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and teaching abilities.
This role offers autonomy, flexible scheduling, meaningful patient interactions, comprehensive training, and benefits including mileage reimbursement, PTO, and performance bonuses. The hourly pay ranges from $28.94 to $51.63 based on experience and qualifications.
