Position Overview
The Speech Therapist provides quality patient care based on physician orders, including assessments, treatments, care planning, and family education. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining individualized plans of care, coordinating services with healthcare teams, and ensuring confidentiality and effective communication. The role involves serving as a clinical resource and delivering written evaluations on patient progress and needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
- Unrestricted SLP license in the practice state
- Current CPR certification
- Preferred: at least one year of recent experience in an acute care setting
Key Duties
- Provide prescribed speech therapy services
- Create evaluation reports and treatment plans
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with the healthcare team
- Maintain documentation and confidentiality
- Support patient and family education and care goals
