Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant

Role Overview: A Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant provides personalized in-home physical therapy to help patients regain strength, mobility, and independence, focusing on functional improvement and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists
  • Perform therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, heat, cold, water, and electrical modalities
  • Document patient records and submit clinical documentation promptly
  • Participate in educational meetings and department in-services
  • Report equipment issues, supply shortages, or patient/staff changes
  • Apply infection control and universal precautions during patient care
  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current state license to practice Physical Therapy
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation
  • CPR certification
  • Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of geriatric physical, emotional, social, and biological changes
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Compensation & Benefits: Pay ranges from $41.00 to $57.00 per visit/unit, with annual salaries estimated between $64,000 and $87,500. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, disability, and life insurance, supporting overall well-being.
