The General Anesthesiologist position in Virginia Beach offers a full-time, exempt role with potential for partnership, reporting to Dr. James Oleksa.
Provides anesthesia at multiple outpatient surgical centers, conducting patient evaluations, developing anesthesia plans, and supervising certified registered nurse anesthetists. Administers and monitors general and regional anesthesia, manages post-operative care, and performs procedures like venous/arterial punctures and airway management. Collaborates with surgical teams, maintains records, orders diagnostic tests, and ensures patient safety throughout perioperative care. Supervises and mentors anesthesiology staff, including interns and residents. Qualifications: MD or DO, BC/BE in anesthesiology, VA medical license, 3+ years high-acuity experience, strong regional skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety.
