Role Overview
The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process for clinical decision-making, ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care that respects patient rights and dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, supporting staff development, and collaborating with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes and department efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes.
- Guide during life-threatening situations and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
- Develop innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, staffing, and performance evaluations.
- Support healthcare delivery improvements and communicate effectively with team members.
- Promote ongoing learning and complete assigned duties.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the current or a similar nursing setting.
- Computer literacy.
- Required licensure as an RN and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
- Preferred certifications include ACLS.
