Role: Full-time Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments to diverse patients in accordance with physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precise therapy delivery, patient assessments, and specialty care tailored to patient age groups.
- Document procedures accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Assist colleagues and recognize personal limitations, seeking help when necessary.
- Report adverse reactions promptly and educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.
- Follow safety protocols, including radiation safety measures, universal precautions, and fall assessments.
- Ensure correct patient set-ups, simulate treatments accurately, and communicate changes effectively.
- Participate in quality control, daily warm-up procedures, and on-call rotations.
- Act as a clinical instructor for radiation therapy students, providing evaluations and feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited radiation therapy program.
- ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
