Flight Nurse

Role: Critical Care Flight Nurse

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced life support and critical care during air and ground transport
  • Assess, stabilize, and manage critically ill or injured patients autonomously
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment, document patient care accurately
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, patients, and families to ensure seamless care
  • Adhere to safety protocols and manage physiological challenges at altitude
  • Maintain operational readiness and contribute to transport program quality

  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • State-certified RN with no restrictions, with ALS, BLS, PALS, trauma, and NRP certifications
  • Emergency or critical care experience; ability to obtain CFRN within two years
  • Strong critical thinking, autonomous decision-making, and effective communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required; must complete within four years if hired prior to deadline
  • Preferred: extensive ICU experience, advanced trauma certifications, mentoring skills, familiarity with ICU technologies

  • Physical & Other Requirements:
  • Ability to perform strenuous tasks, operate complex equipment, and work in high-stress environments
  • Maintain weight restrictions, pass physical assessments, and work long shifts including nights and weekends
