Emergency Department RN (36 Hrs, Nights)

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat human responses to health problems. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating patient care activities, including discharge planning and patient education.


Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Performs accurate multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and reassesses patients throughout care.
  • Planning: Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care with other departments, and delegates tasks appropriately.
  • Implementation: Initiates protocols, executes physicians’ plans, administers medications accurately, and documents care meticulously.
  • Evaluation: Assesses patient responses, evaluates care effectiveness, and participates in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of nine months RN experience, with at least one year in an emergency department or completion of a related internship program.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and either PALS or ENPC within six months of hire.

Additional Skills:
  • Computer proficiency and emergency pediatric skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare experience, Bachelor’s degree, and certifications like CEN or TNCC.
  • Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
