Diagnostic Radiology Technologist – Weekender Rotation

Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures to support licensed practitioners. They prepare patients, ensure proper identification, and optimize imaging protocols while maintaining safety and applying ALARA principles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and document clinical history confidentially.
  • Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.
  • Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and ensure proper data transfer and storage.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, documenting activities accurately.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare team members.
  • Support licensed practitioners during procedures, including fluoroscopy and specialized imaging.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months.
  • Applicants hired after a specified date must achieve higher-level certification within 24 months.

Work Environment & Compliance: Work is conducted in clinical settings, adhering to all policies and legal regulations. Additional department-specific skills may be required. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, diversity, and continuous learning.
