Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently execute radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, analyze data for diagnosis, and assist licensed practitioners. They prepare, administer, and document medications and radiation exposure following legal and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history confidentially.
- Utilize imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures across various settings, including operating rooms and ICUs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registration within 6 months.
- Applicants hired after a specific date must complete steps to advance to level 2 within 24 months.
