Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, analyze data for diagnosis, and assist licensed practitioners in completing imaging tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure correct patient identification and preparation, optimize imaging protocols with an emphasis on safety and ALARA principles, evaluate image quality, and verify data transfer. They prepare and administer medications as prescribed, educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with procedures outside the Radiology Department, such as in the Operating Room or ICU.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduates must complete a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology. New graduates are required to obtain ARRT-R registration within 6 months. Applicants hired after a specified date must progress to level 2 within 24 months. The role demands attention to detail, patient care, technical proficiency, and teamwork.
