Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA principles.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, properly identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
- Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and evaluate images for quality.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the radiology department.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Ensure proper data storage, transfer, and post-processing of images.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R registry within 6 months for new graduates; preferred Bachelor’s degree. Ability to perform procedures accurately, evaluate images, and follow safety protocols is essential.
Additional Details: Work is performed in a clinical environment, with compliance to policies and procedures. Advancement to level 2 requires completing specified steps within 24 months after hire. The role involves collaboration, continuous learning, and commitment to safety and excellence.
