Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring patient safety and image quality while adhering to ALARA principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and prepare patients for procedures, respecting confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and evaluate images for quality.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the radiology department.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Ensure proper data storage, transfer, and post-processing of images.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months; applicants hired after a specified date must progress to level 2 within 24 months.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety, patient care, and imaging techniques.
