Role: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures using ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, prepare and administer medications, and ensure patient safety while adhering to laws and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct patient identification, prepare patients, and verify clinical history with confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety and care.
- Administer medications via vascular access as prescribed and evaluate images for quality and proper positioning.
- Verify data transfer and assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months.
- Hired applicants after a specific date must complete steps for advancement to level 2 within 24 months.
