Role Overview: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently execute or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring data collection for diagnosis by licensed practitioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct patient identification, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Apply appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles for patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for quality and proper positioning.
- Verify data storage and transfer, post-process data if necessary, and educate or monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist licensed practitioners in fluoroscopic and specialized procedures across various clinical settings.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
- Obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months for new graduates.
- Complete steps for advancing to level 2 if hired after a specified date.
