Role Overview: The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic, therapeutic, or research-related imaging procedures, including radiographic and fluoroscopic exams. They independently execute or assist licensed practitioners in procedures, ensuring patient safety, proper preparation, and accurate data acquisition in compliance with laws and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, and document clinical history respectfully.
Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and ensure proper data storage or transfer.
Educate and monitor students and healthcare team members.
Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the radiology department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Graduate from a specialty training program in Radiologic Technology.
New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within 6 months.
Applicants hired after a specific date must complete steps for advancement to level 2 within 24 months.
Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, patient care, and radiation safety.
