Role Overview: A Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic, therapeutic, or research radiologic procedures, including radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, to support patient care. They independently conduct or assist licensed practitioners, ensuring proper patient identification, preparation, and safety while adhering to protocols and ALARA principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and document clinical history.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data storage, and perform post-processing as needed.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the radiology department.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within 6 months.
- Ability to perform a full scope of radiologic procedures with attention to safety and quality.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in clinical environments.
