Role Overview: The CT Technologist I performs computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They prepare, evaluate, and acquire imaging data, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulations. The role involves assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures, monitoring and educating students and healthcare providers, and documenting activities related to medications and radiation exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper identification, and prepare patients for exams.
- Use appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles.
- Prepare and administer medications through vascular access as prescribed.
- Evaluate image quality, verify data storage and transfer, and perform post-processing if needed.
- Assist with interventional procedures and educate healthcare team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
- Preferred education includes graduate training in Radiologic Technology; a related bachelor’s degree is advantageous.
- Ability to perform independently, adhere to safety standards, and effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.
