CT Technologist

Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies technical expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They are vital members of a collaborative care team, performing CT procedures, ensuring diagnostic image quality, and maintaining patient safety and comfort.


Responsibilities include:

  • Performing CT scans following department protocols and adjusting techniques to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Operating imaging equipment independently, maintaining equipment and infection control standards.
  • Screening patients, verifying orders, and obtaining clinical history.
  • Explaining procedures, addressing patient questions, and providing age-appropriate care.
  • Administering contrast agents, positioning patients, and ensuring images meet diagnostic criteria.
  • Documenting procedures accurately, reviewing images, and managing equipment and supplies.
  • Responding to emergencies, monitoring patient condition, and supporting department workflow.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum 1 year radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

Skills & Qualities: Technical proficiency in CT imaging, patient communication, attention to safety protocols, and teamwork. Ability to operate equipment independently and respond effectively to patient needs and emergencies.
