Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise in delivering safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They are integral members of a collaborative care team, performing procedures with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT procedures following department guidelines, ensuring diagnostic image quality.
- Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to maintain safety (ALARA) and diagnostic standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment, report issues promptly.
- Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and screen for contraindications; explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
- Administer contrast, position patients, and apply shielding as needed.
- Review images for diagnostic quality; retake or adjust as necessary; document accurately in RIS/PACS.
- Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment.
- Organize workflows, support departmental operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
- Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).
