CT Technologist

Role Overview: The CT Technologist performs high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while supporting a collaborative care team. They operate imaging equipment independently, capture diagnostic images, and maintain infection control standards. The technologist obtains clinical history, verifies orders, and explains procedures using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety. They position patients accurately, administer contrast agents when needed, and review images for diagnostic quality, repeating exams as necessary. Accurate documentation and timely finalization in RIS/PACS are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing CT procedures following department protocols and adjusting techniques to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Maintaining equipment and workspaces, reporting issues promptly.
  • Ensuring patient safety, privacy, and comfort, providing age-appropriate care.
  • Responding to emergencies, monitoring patient condition, and assisting with life-support equipment.
  • Supporting departmental workflows, ensuring compliance, and maintaining organized work areas.
  • Transporting patients safely and completing clerical tasks accurately.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum 1 year of radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS.
