Critical Care Transport Nurse

Overview of the Role

Provides comprehensive pediatric and newborn transport services as part of a critical care team, ensuring high-quality patient care in a regional setting. The role involves direct patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management and post-treatment needs.
  • Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, along with ongoing professional development.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Using critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences and cultural considerations.
  • Ensuring communication across the continuum of care and maintaining safety standards, as the position is safety-sensitive.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • RN license with a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years (5 preferred) experience in pediatric transport, ICU, ER, or neonatal ICU.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate leadership, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
