Role Overview:
This position is for a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist responsible for improving patient outcomes in the ICU through direct clinical pharmacy services. Key duties include participating in daily ICU rounds, verifying medication orders, providing pharmacokinetic, warfarin, and TPN consults, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and dietitians. The role involves contributing to research, committee activities, and serving as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- PGY1 residency required
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 2 years of experience, with 2-5 years preferred
- Licensure as RPh and Medication Therapy Services certification in MO
- Strong clinical, collaborative, and mentorship skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient health status and medication profiles for optimal outcomes
- Monitor therapy, document activities, and evaluate goals of care
- Participate in professional development, research, and performance improvement
- Educate and mentor pharmacy staff, residents, and students
- Implement drug cost reduction initiatives
