Clinical Pharmacist Specialist – Ambulatory Care

Role Overview:

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist supports outpatient clinical services by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize medication therapy, manage disease states, and improve access to specialty medications. The role involves delivering direct patient care, contributing to program development, supporting quality initiatives, and serving as a clinical resource for providers and patients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patients’ health status and medication profiles to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Monitoring therapy progress and documenting activities
  • Participating in professional development, research, and performance improvement activities
  • Teaching and mentoring pharmacy staff, residents, and students
  • Implementing targeted drug cost reduction programs

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medication therapy services in MO
  • Current RPh license in Missouri
  • Preferred: 2-5 years of relevant experience and PGY2 residency
