Role Overview:
This position is for an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist focused on supporting a solid tumor team within a multidisciplinary, academic healthcare environment. The role involves providing expert oncology pharmacotherapy support, educating patients and caregivers, and contributing to the development of cancer treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient health status and medication profiles to optimize outcomes.
- Monitor therapy progress, document activities, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Participate in professional development, research, and quality assurance activities.
- Contribute to performance improvement and drug use evaluation initiatives.
- Educate and mentor pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
- Assist in implementing drug cost reduction strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, with 2-5 years preferred.
- Licensed as a Pharmacist (RPh) and certified in Medication Therapy Services in MO.
- Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills in oncology.
Additional Details:
- Work Monday to Friday, during the day, with occasional weekend work.
- Engage in inpatient and outpatient care, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and resources.
- Serve as a resource within the hospital, supporting continuous improvement and professional growth.
