Role Overview:
Provides specialized vascular access care, including insertion, assessment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of devices such as peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICC lines, utilizing both traditional techniques and ultrasound-guided technology.
Responsibilities:
- Perform device placement and ensure proper function, including declotting and resolving mechanical issues.
- Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and communicate effectively across care teams.
- Educate patients and families on care, post-treatment management, and medication administration.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree; RN licensure required.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 2+ years of experience, especially in vascular access or ultrasound IV training.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient-centered care skills.
