Clinical Nurse Surgical PCU

Role Overview:

This position is for a Clinical Nurse in a 19-bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) caring for high-acuity surgical patients. It welcomes both new graduates and experienced RNs and offers a sign-on bonus up to $15,000. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, promoting patient and family-centered care, and ensuring safety and quality standards. The nurse educates patients on managing their health, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and documents individualized care plans while considering physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. The role requires RN licensure and a nursing diploma or associate’s degree. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in nursing and two years of experience. The position emphasizes teamwork, professional growth, and supporting both new and experienced nurses.

Key Duties:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
  • Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge needs
  • Participate in safety, quality, and regulatory activities
  • Develop and communicate individualized care plans
  • Assess physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs, respecting patient values and barriers

Qualifications:

  • RN licensure
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred
  • No prior experience necessary; two years preferred
