Clinical Nurse – Operating Room

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care activities in the operating room, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care by educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to develop, implement, and document individualized care plans, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural needs. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, maintaining a safe work environment as a safety-sensitive position.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree in Nursing, RN licensure.
  • No prior experience required; two years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
  • Participation in professional development and team collaboration essential.
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in general surgery and possibly other specialties.
  • Educate patients and families on care procedures and post-discharge needs.
  • Support a healing environment through safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
  • Develop and communicate individualized care plans in collaboration with team members.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and promote service excellence.
